Summer Solstice Season

"Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language. " ~Henry James

Today marks Summer Solstice , the longest period of daylight in the year and the first day of summer; the season of sunshine and simple pleasures, of pools and beaches, picnics and parks, lemonade and iced tea, garden tours and festivals, campfires and s'mores, strawberry picking and jam-making, watermelon and popsicles, cherries and peaches, BBQ's and salads, hotdogs and ice cream cones, hammocks and lounge chairs, sundresses and sandals, porches and patios, long days and leisurely evenings, reading and dreaming....
What are some of your favourite simple summer pleasures?

"Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
