Spring Cleaning Week

It's March Break here which means that all the school children have a break from their schooling for the week. We plan to take some day trips, but it is also a good week to get the troops to help with Spring Cleaning our home.
Every Spring we do this and feel a great sense of accomplishment when the house is smelling fresh and clean.
The sun is shining and the temperatures are well above normal for this time of year.
One of the purposes of spring cleaning is to sort and purge excess and clutter in our house that we stored up over winter and to remove it.
It's a good time to open up the windows and let fresh air in.
It's also a good time to re-organize closets and cupboards in our home.

"Spring cleaning is the period in spring time set aside for cleaning a house, normally applied in climates with a cold winter.
The most common usage of spring cleaning refers to the yearly act of cleaning a house from top to bottom which would take place in the first warm days of the year typically in spring, hence the name."

Martha Stewart has a wonderful printable checklist to share.
This list is in her book "Homekeeping Handbook", as well.
